Oil Spills

Mission Statement

The methodology used by Tiger Tanks for the removal of liquids and sludge, involves the use of pressurized water to remove any solids or semi-solids from the walls and floor of the tank. Then using a 100HP wet vacuum system; the material is removed and transferred via hoses to an appropriate storage unit (vacuum tank, cutting box).

The use of hoses minimizes the likelihood of spills from the operation. In the case where the material to be removed is dry solid, a dry vacuum is used.

The Tiger Tanks methodology is less labour intensive than simply using a bucket and shovels and does not employ the use of hazardous chemicals. The operation is always closely monitored by a Tiger Tanks Supervisor.

In addition, Tiger Tanks Trinidad Unlimited has the expertise and equipment, to provide twenty four (24) hour Oil Spill Response Services to the Oil and Gas sector. The service also includes the removal of the split material to an approved waste disposal facility. The combined experience of Tiger Tanks Trinidad Unlimited and AMPOL brings to the table both local and international experience in responding to oil spills both on and offshore.

Tiger Tanks is able to provide a wide variety of spill response equipment including but not limited to:

  • Booms
  • Spill Pads
  • Peat Moss
  • Skimmers
  • Vacuum Units (wet & dry)
  • Containment Units (Cutting boxes, frac tanks)
